Buguda is a small town (NAC) belongs to district of Ganjam in Orissa. The place is located near about 150kms away from Bhubaneswar, capital of Orissa. To reach here one can hire a taxi or can find Buses from Bhubaneswar or Berhampur. Any one from outside of Orissa, can come to those two places by train(s)(Bhubaneswar or Berhampur). The place is not that famous in Orissa or elsewhere due to ineffective promotions about the place and its intrinsic beauty and spirituality.
In this place there is a very ancient temple made in the shape of a chariot. The whole thing is made of Wood and many spiritual and ancient myth stories has been painted on the walls of the temple. However some of these paintings are being ruined in due course of time and due to ineffective restoration. God "Sun" is being worshiped here, so it is also called as the "second Konark/Arka Khetra" of Orissa. In addition to this there are many other amazing things one can find in the temple premises, like one large well having connectivity to a dark narrow channel. There is a belief that nobody knows where the channel ends....!!
Only 5kms from Buguda, there is a place named "Budhhokhola", famous for its spirituality and scenic beauty. The Place is on the hills near to Buguda. There are five temples at one place where lord Shiva is being worshiped. The place is surrounded by refreshing natural environment as being on the hill. To add to its beauty a fountain flows through the place, which attracts most of the visitors and pilgrims. There are several caves in Budhhokhola, each one having its own significance and a related folk story. Its is believed that Lord "Budhha" had once stayed here, so the name of the place is "Budhho-Kholo" means Caves of Budhha.
Besides these there are many more things that makes Buguda a place to visit and to share some wonderful moments at this small town, which is my birth place......!!! :)
